New and familiar faces

You may have been in our office recently and seen a familiar face. We’ve welcomed Haley back as an assistant. Her smiling face and laughter have been nice to have back in our office!

Hopefully, you’ll also meet Lorina, the newest member of our team. She’s coming in as office manager, and will be here to handle all your financial and insurance questions. Feel free to call her about your treatment, your concerns, whatever you need.

While sometimes the faces change, our commitment to our patients does not. We remain willing and able to take care of your dental and overall health.

Dads and Grads

We honored moms last month, and were glad we did! Now’s our chance to make your Dad feel just as special, we don’t want them to feel left out!

Tell us something funny about your dad, your husband, your grandpa. Make us laugh or cry with your comments. We want to know, what makes them an exceptional father?

We’d also like to honor those graduating this year! Maybe it’s your high schooler, let’s get their teeth bright before college starts in the fall. Perhaps it’s a college or graduate school they are leaving, let’s get their smile shining just in time for job interviews!

We’ll pick two winners, one dad and one new graduate, to each receive a gift certificate for in-office whitening. ($300 value)

fear and loathing

Those of us in the dental industry know we’re not your favorite place to be. In fact, there’s probably lots of other things you want to do before you come in here.

We not only know this, we understand and try to help with this.

Many people fear or hate the dentist. We accept this and want you to know it’s OK. We don’t judge you for it. We would like the chance to sit down with you and talk about what your concerns are.

We’ve had a number of patients tell us they were afraid of the dentist until they came to our office. We are extremely happy to hear this. We want you to come in, we want you to take care of your oral health, and we want you to be comfortable.

We offer conscious sedation to help ease the anxiety that comes with dental work. We have movies on the ceiling to help distract you from the task at hand.

However worried you are, know there’s been a patient just like you in the chair before. Dr. Weaver is patient and accommodating and does his best to alleviate any fears. Call us or make an appointment to see how we can work with you.

summertime

The weather here in Salt Lake is officially getting warm. Today’s high is expected to be near 90 degrees!

Before you get all excited about summer, we thought we’d remind you to come in for your checkup and cleaning. If you haven’t been in yet in 2012, this is a good time to do so! If you do your cleaning and checkup now, it ensures you can get in your 2 cleanings for the calendar year, as provided for by your insurance. Your premiums cost you money, and if your insurance pays 100% of this preventive visit, you should take advantage of that.

As school lets out and the warmer weather paves the way to vacations and time away from home, schedules can get a little crazy. So, call us today and get your appointment on the books!

Mother’s Day

Your mom was probably the one who taught you to brush your teeth. She probably reminded you to floss and we know she prompted you, on many occasions, to smile for the camera. We want to thank those moms for helping us with our smile by helping them with theirs.

Perhaps after that, you’re thinking of some mothers you love. Not just your own mom, but your friends, sisters, daughters too. Nominate a mom you love (or yourself, if you’re a mom, a grandma, or a step-mom) and we’ll pick one winner to receive a gift certificate for in-office whitening. ($300 value)

social media dentist

We’re trying to increase our social media presence, and would love your input.

We’re on Twitter, sharing the articles we find interesting about your dental health. We’re on Facebook, sharing links and information. We feel this is a good way to connect with our patients. We would love to be able to email you, so please share your address with us. We will only use it for our office communications, there’s no worry of the email being sold or shared outside this office.

You can request an appointment through our website, here and we’re hoping at some point to be able to text reminders and notices to you as well, so let us know if you’d be interested!

We have also updated our information on Google Places, Yelp, Foursquare and more; so check in and check us out!

Spring cleaning

You may notice some changes around here, we officially have a new name.

We feel Altitude Dental suits us, and Salt Lake City, the city we love to work in. There’s been other changes in our offices as well and we want to make you aware of them.

We are no longer open on Mondays.  We are here Tuesday, Wednesday and every other Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. We are also open later on Thursdays to better accommodate those of you who need to come in after work, with a 5 o’clock appointment (or later, depending on procedure).

Take a tour

Maybe you’ve never been to our office. Let us give you a quick show around.

We’re right on 1300 East in Sugarhouse, not far from the freeway; we’re just a few buildings down from 2100 South. You’ve probably even driven by our office.

When you walk in, you’ll find our waiting area comfortable and stocked with recent (not three-year old!) magazines. We will be with you shortly, but lots of patients use this time to catch up on their celebrity gossip!

Our rooms are equipped with TV’s on the ceiling. You can flip through the cable channels or choose a movie to watch. Of course, we have a few DVD’s to choose from, but maybe this is a good time to re watch one of your favorites, or visit the closest Redbox to pick out one you haven’t seen.

When you’re finished with your treatment, you can ask questions about your insurance and schedule other appointments up at the front desk.

See those charts? They’re dwindling down as we move forward with making our office completely paperless. It’ a process, but one we’re enjoying. Digital x-rays and electronic charts make life easier for patients and staff.

If you’re a new patient (or just considering becoming one) we’d love to give you a tour. Call us at 801-484-0792 to schedule a time to walk through.
